Happy Together!

I subscribed to Noel Mignon kit club! It costs around $70 a month which includes shipping. Sounds a little pricey? Not really considering that the kits are crammed with delightful scrapbook goodness. I do not have to shop around or buy paper from various sources. Once a month I receive all the latest and greatest scrapbook goods! I believe that the Happy Together kit is from January. I just now got around to making some layouts! I used my new lilac Cricut Explore 2 to make the rocket and cactus. I have a subscription to access so it's easy to find almost any cut file. If you are considering the Access subscription it is definitely worth it. Hope you enjoy the layouts. I'm not getting paid by any company just want to let you know some other stuff I use!

Shotpage

My daughter asked me to help her create a "shotpage" for a friend in her sorority. It was a party theme and apparently a pretty popular thing to do when one turns 21. So I cut out a bottle shape from Cricut access. Then I uploaded a fireball image from google. I also cut out a transparency sheet of the bottle image. I built a shaker bottle. I put different shapes of red glitter which added a fun touch. On the little fire devil I used versa and red tinsel embossing powder. Thanks for stopping by and craft on!

Snowed in(I wish)

Hello! It is a rainy, warm day here at Papered Tales land! I wish it was snowing. I love snow. So I came across this snowman SVG file from Treasurebox Designs called "Snowed In". I used paper from Carta Bella's Winter Fun line to create the layout. I love the snowman's cute little face. If I can't have snow at least I can create a little herd at home. Thanks for stopping by. God bless and craft on!

Love the Journey

Hello! Hope the New Year finds you well! I created a new layout using Echo Park paper. I believe the line is "Just Be You!" The camper was created using the Cricut Wild Cards 2 cartridge. The fonts are Confetti Sprinkles which are available from Cricut Access. The arrow is from Thickers. Thanks for dropping by! Keep calm and craft on!

Bible journaling with Prima Dolls

Bible journaling has become a very important and peaceful retreat for me. In the past years, I really have not read the Bible a whole bunch. Now that I am bible journaling I am reading and thinking about the word of God. This creative process has given be a new found joy in the Bible. My friend and I gather once a month to eat and draw then eat some more. This particular entry is a tag that I can flip up to reveal the verse. The Prima Doll is from this Springs release. The doll stamp is called Collette. The paper is from Graphic 45's line, "By the Sea". The anchor is from a Cricut cartridge. The wash tape is from Simple Stories. Most importantly the verse is from Hebrews stating that Jesus is my anchor. Hope you enjoyed! God bless and craft on!

Maison Pierre Bed and Breakfast New Orleans Layout

Last October of 2015, my family and I travelled to the Big Easy. We decided to stay at a bed and breakfast called Maison Perrier. I choose this bed and breakfast because it was outside of the French Quarter in the Garden District. I wanted to stay somewhere different but close to the city center. Maison Perrier fit the bill perfectly. We could get a trolley pass and go to and from the French Quarter with ease. The Maison Perrier is actually two buildings. Because my kids are older we could have separate rooms or buildings. They actually ended up staying upstairs from us. Both rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The accommodations were very nice. I will be staying there again. The layout is of the front of the Maison Perrier with my darling husband posing. I chose October Afternoon paper for this layout. The paper is a few years old. I finally decided that I need to use up all of my paper before getting to many newer lines. I tend to hoard paper thinking, "Oh, I will use this one day on something very special". Well that time has come and I am either selling the paper in a yard sale or using it up. For the cup, I used Stamping Up's, "A Nice Cuppa", die and stamp set. I attached the tea label by curving wire around a dowel round then attaching with glue dots. I then used a wood spoon to round out the layout with blue and white baker's twined in a bow. Hope you enjoyed! God Bless and craft on...

Prima Dolls

My friend, Jamie, and I started playing around with Prima doll stamps several years ago. (She created the first two dolls.) We actually meet together several times throughout the year just to mess around with the dolls. The dolls can be used for so many things from cards to scrapbook pages to Bible journaling. I love my dolls!

Papered Tales hybrid albums

My poor pitiful neglected blog): now has a new name-Papered Tales-possibly a lot more entries! I hope to inspire and aid people who are overwhelmed with their pictures, intimidated by scrapbooking, horrified(scared) of the expense.
I have started doing hybrid albums for the events in my life. I take hundreds of pictures on trips, birthdays, holidays, etc. There is not enough paper or time on Earth for me to make a 12 by 12 page for every picture. Not every picture is worth a whole page layout. That, my friends is why I have started doing hybrid albums. I want to remember a knick knack or flower I saw on a trip. So I can make a little 4 by 4 card with photo and place it in a pocket and remember it forever. Just maybe after all this creating and preserving I can inspire others to do something like travel or get out of their comfort zone.
During the next month I am going to share some of my albums that include this hybrid style.
Below is a title page from my California trip!
For the page, I used my Cricut for the title, flag and state. The paper is from October Afternoon! Have a great day and keep crafting!

My Mind'sEye and memory files!

Today, I used MME and the memory file concept! The thick paper from MME is perfect for making files.    I used the Collectible line for the project. I cut out the file using Cricut mini book cartridge. On the inside, I made a mini book. I grommets were used to secure the pages. I haven't completed the album yet. I have not quite figured out what pictures and embellish to use on the inside.

Also, I entered into the MME challenge for June. So go check out the MME blog for inspiration and challenges.
